Athlete sponsorship report template: show what happened

Report delivered assets, reach, clicks and limits without inventing ROI.

An athlete sponsorship report should answer three questions: did the agreed work happen, what response can be observed, and what should change next time? Report the metric the platform actually provides. Views, unique reach, link clicks and purchases are different measures.

Use this report structure

Choose metrics before the campaign

For awareness, agree on exposure measures such as reach or views and their definitions. For traffic, agree on link tracking and the reporting window. For sales, ask the brand how it will attribute purchases and whether you will receive aggregated results. A screenshot of likes cannot establish sales or incremental profit.

A hypothetical report, with honest limits

Example only: two agreed videos were published; one received 2,400 views and the other 1,600 during a seven-day window. Report 4,000 combined views, not 4,000 unique people. If the brand reports 35 tagged-link visits, record its source and date range. If sales data is unavailable, write “not provided,” rather than zero sales or an estimated revenue number.

Calculate only what the data supports

Engagement rate by reach = interactions ÷ reach × 100. If interactions are 120 and reach is 2,000, the result is 6%. Name the included interactions and window. Do not compare this directly with a rate calculated using followers or views. Revenue divided by campaign spend is a revenue ratio, not profit ROI. Incrementality requires additional evidence.

Protect people and permissions

Share aggregate data rather than private messages or customer identities. Obtain permission before publishing a client report as a case study. Separate organic results from paid amplification where the data allows. Preserve the original exports so a future media-kit claim can be checked.

Before your next project, define the scope and choose a measurement in the campaign planner.
